Bozeman, Helena High, and GFHS Top AA Football Power Rankings (Week 4)

We’re back for Week 4 of the AA football power rankings! See previous rankings here: Week 1Week 2, Week 3.

#1 Bozeman Hawks (3-0)

They’ve had one close call against West. Other than that they’ve looked like a lock to play for a title.

#2 Helena High Bengals (3-0)

Ended up beating Hellgate, but took some haymakers in the process. This was an 8-7 game in favor of Hellgate late in first. This team will go as far as that beefy offensive line is willing to take them.

#3 Great Falls High Bison (3-0)

Came out on top in a thriller with Sentinel. Now they face an even stiffer test on the road against West.

#4 Billings West Golden Bears (2-1)

Probably should be 3-0. Went on the road and walloped Flathead. Should be a dandy against the Bison.

#5 Flathead Braves (2-1)

Had a bit of a wake-up call against the Golden Bears, now face another solid squad in Sentinel.

#6 Missoula Sentinel Spartans (2-1)

I know I sound like a broken record, but they could also be unbeaten. Should be headed for a track meet in Kalispell against the Braves.

#7 Billings Senior Broncs (2-1)

Got back on the right track against the Falcons, but it won’t be as easy against CMR. Will be interesting to see if Russell starter, Kellen Hartman is back under center.

#8 Missoula Big Sky Eagles (1-2)

Took advantage of an injury and some sloppy play on CMR’s part and secured their first victory of the year. Now comes a crosstown battle with  Hellgate.

#9 CMR Rustlers (1-2)

Losing Kellen Hartman hurt. They’re a better team than their record suggests, but they need to clean things up in order to get back on track.

#10 Glacier High Wolfpack (0-3)

Dropped close ones in their first two weeks. They also are not as bad as the record suggests, but likely drop another one to a tough Bengal squad this week.

#11 Helena Capital Bruins (1-2)

Broke out offensively against Butte, which doesn’t seem to be strong defensively. Should be able to even up their record against a Falcon team that continues to struggle.

#12 Butte High Bulldogs (1-2)

Bulldogs fans were told this was their year. So far, things haven’t panned out. Now they face the #1 team in the state on the road. Yikes.

#13 Missoula Hellgate Knights (0-3)

These guys WILL break that long losing skid this season; quote me on that. They’re a scrappy group and need to learn to capitalize when the ball bounces their way. They could be riding a one-game win streak heading into next week.

#14 Billings Skyview Falcons (0-3)

Should see a little more success at home against the Bruins this week. Need to find some consistency on defense in order to have a chance.
