AA Football Tidbits – Week 6

Billings West and Butte remain unbeaten after five weeks of football, while Billings Skyview, Flathead Great Falls High and Belgrade have yet to earn a win. The list of winless teams is guaranteed to shrink this week. Read on to find out who Minty Coach thinks will pick up it’s first win this week!

Week 6 Match-ups…

  • GFH @ Belgrade
  • Hellgate @ Glacier
  • Bozeman @ CMR
  • West @ Senior
  • Capital @ Butte
  • Flathead @ Helena High
  • Sentinel @ Big Sky

Minty’s Predicted Winners…

  • GFH
  • Hellgate
  • Bozeman
  • West
  • Butte
  • Helena
  • Sentinel

Last Week: 6-1, Overall: 28-8

What To Watch For…

  • Game of the Week: Capital @ Butte. The Bulldogs are still perfect on the season. The Bruins have only been tripped up by Sentinel. Butte beat Sentinel in a gem of a game last week in Missoula. Capital lost to Sentinel the week prior. Capital also only topped winless Flathead by a touchdown. I like Butte at home.
  • Upset Special(s)
    • Belgrade – They came close against CMR, but have been held back by a stagnant offense. If they get a rhythm going this could be their week.
    • Big Sky – They damn near beat Helena and they came out on top against Bozeman. They’d love nothing more than to knock off crosstown rival, Missoula Sentinel and climb back into the playoff discussion.
    • Hellgate – They suffered their first defeat of the season against Helena High last week. However, the game was closer than the final score would indicate (44-20) and you have to think the Knights have at least a puncher’s chance against the Glacier Wolfpack this week.

Minty Tidbits…

  • According to MaxPreps, Bozeman High defensive end Kenneth Eiden leads the state in sacks with six, while Beaverhead’s Cooper Hoffman leads the state in tackles with 62. Another Bozeman Hawk, Carter Ash, leads the way in interceptions with 5.
  • For those of you wondering, Butte High last played for a Class AA title in 1991, topping Hellgate 34-7. The Bulldogs are in good position to play for a state title thus far and close out the season with Capital, Flathead, Big Sky and Hellgate.
  • Will Dissly Watch: He did it again! Seven receptions, fifty-seven yards and ANOTHER touchdown. Mr. Dissly is developing a nice connection with Russell Wilson and seems to have taken full control of the starting TE spot for the Seahawks.
