Eugene’s Pizza Wins the Montana Mint Pizza Bracket Championship

MONTANA – Today, the Montana Mint announced that Eugene’s Pizza of Glasgow won its March Madness Montana Pizza Bracket Contest to determine the best pizza in Montana.  Eugene’s won in the contest’s final round over Howard’s Pizza (Great Falls), Nalivka’s (Havre), and Mackenzie River Pizza (everywhere).

Eugene also won the Montana Mint pizza contest in 2015.

This year, over 30,000 votes were cast on the Montana Mint website, Facebook, and Twitter.  Starting with 60 pizza places, fans voted in three rounds over three weeks to pick the winner.  In an effort to bring in some new places that might be off the beaten path, the hosts at the Montana Mint let fans pick the 16th spot in the Sweet 16 through write-in ballot, which Stetch’s Pizza (Malta) won.

“The people of Montana have spoken: the best pizza in Montana can be found on the Hi-Line,” said representatives from the Montana Mint. “Eugene’s recipe for success seems to be great pizza and a VERY loyal fan base.  They’re fans came up huge on social media, which ended up being the difference.”  The Montana Mint added, “Eugene’s is turning into the Duke University of Montana pizza.”

Sam Knodel  from Eugene’s had this to say about their victory, “All I can say is Wow – this is such an honor!  We owe so much to our loyal customers, friends, family, fans and followers.”  Knodel continued,  “To win the Montana Mint, “Best Pizza in Montana” two years in a row speaks volumes for our attention to quality and detail. But believe me, this won’t go to our heads…we will always strive to turn-out the absolute best pizza in all of Montana. Special thanks to the Montana Mint for once again promoting this pizza competition.  Also thanks to all our awesome employees…we couldn’t  do it without them. Arlie, our dad, would be so proud of all this.”

During the final round of voting, the Montana Mint provided each pizza voter with information on how to register to vote in the upcoming primaries.  “Montanans take their pizza seriously.  We hope everyone who voted in our contest also votes in the June primary…even if they plan to write in Eugene’s Pizza for President.”
